Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women (IGDTUW) was established in May 2013 vide Delhi State Legislature Act 9, 2012. It was founded as the Indira Gandhi Institute of Technology in 1998 and was the only constituent college of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University. In May 2013, it gained autonomy and became the first women technical university in India established by Govt. of Delhi. It began as a non- affiliating teaching and research University at Delhi to facilitate and promote studies, research, technology, innovation, incubation and extension work in emerging areas of professional education among women.
IGDTUW is contributing to female empowerment by providing higher education courses like B.Tech, B.Arch, M.Tech, MCA and Ph.D. The main focus of the university is engineering, technology, applied sciences, management and its allied areas with the objective to achieve excellence in these and related fields.
Our major concentration is on imparting technical training and to encourage curiosity and innovativeness among the students and the foundation from where they can acquire quick learning ability and adaptive learning with the fast-changing needs of the industry.
The Training and Placement Cell facilitates the campus placement program at IGDTUW. The cell comprises of highly energetic and dynamic team of students and faculty members.
The team is consistently striving to enhance the quality and quantity of the placements in the university. We organize industrial visits for students, training seminars, conferences and expert lectures to prepare them for opportunities that await them.
